3RD ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2021 OF THE ANCMPM

On August 27th, the 3rd Assembly 2021 of the National Association of Mexican World Heritage Cities was held in the city of San Luis Potosi.

During the development of this Assembly, the potential that working together and in a coordinated manner in this Association offers to Mexican World Heritage Cities was recognized, a clear example of this was the creation of the Management Unit of the Historic Center of San Luis Potosi. During the Assembly, San Luis Potosi presented the creation of the unit which, after observing and adopting best practices among the associated cities, was able to implement actions that translate into the conservation of the World Heritage Site and, consequently, into the improvement of the quality of life of those who live there.

Arturo Balandrano Campos, General Director of Cultural Heritage Sites and Monuments of the Ministry of Culture, who presented to the Assembly the progress of the Mexican World Heritage Cities 2021.

Likewise, a work meeting was held in the areas of tourism with the participation of the Monterrey Center for Design Studies and UNESCO Mexico to present the progress made in the strategy for the Communication of Outstanding Universal Values resulting from the project “Strengthening Sustainable Tourism in Mexico’s World Heritage Cities” in coordination with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC).
