On September 23rd, the Municipality of Puebla received the official appointment of adhesion to the World Network of Learning Cities, by UNESCO.

In her welcome speech, the Municipal President, Claudia Rivera Vivanco, endorsed the commitment to continue transforming the City of Puebla into a center of educational life where the learning ecosystem is lived with a gender perspective and to persist in the struggle to increase the percentage of attendance at basic education processes in the Municipality.

“The real changes come from education, learning and culture,” said the mayor, while welcoming the incorporation of more inclusive, equitable and prosperous cities into this network of collaborative construction.

She added that today, Puebla has officially joined one of the most ambitious international communities in promoting best practices in learning and cultural development.

It is through dialogue on the creation of public policies in this area, as well as the exchange of tools and experiences among cities in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa, that this network promotes global collaboration for the universal right to education.
